This is a beautiful prayer and praise coloring journal. The embossed design with the font and colors on the cover make it very visually appealing. The pages inside are also colorfully laid out with some page spreads fully colored, some partially colored, and some completely black & white. Each page spread has a space to either journal or illustrate and most have a prayer printed on them with a scripture reference. It's a very pretty book.

It's a little different then I expected. It's on the small side (6 by 8) and it has a thick hardback cover. Despite the binding, the book opens fairly flat to allow for the journaling and coloring. At first I was a little put off by the fact that you couldn't really color on some of the pages. But I love colorful and pretty books and these pages are definitely appealing so I got over that quickly. :) The pages are pretty thick and will hold up well to most of your bleed free markers and pens.

All in all, I think it's a beautiful, well made coloring journal with encouraging and uplifting pictures and prayers.

Amish Quilts Coloring Book Blog Tour & Giveaway!

~ Don't forget to enter the GIVEAWAY below!! ~

About the Book

Feeling stressed? Why not relax with an adult coloring book?

Rachel J. Good’s Amish Quilts Coloring Book takes you back to a time and place that’s calm. Immerse yourself in a world of peace as you color the 25 different quilts.

Inspired by quilts seen in Amish country, many of these designs are based on traditional patterns, but some have been re-imagined or repeated multiple times to create more intricate designs to color. Each quilt is printed on only one side of the page; facing pages contain inspirational Amish proverbs. To make the quilts even more colorful and interesting, sketch fabric designs – plaids, checks, paisleys, flowers, or abstract shapes – into the larger quilt blocks, use pattern stamps, or even collage fabric scraps to the pages. And if the designs inspire you to make quilts of your own, the pages can be used as templates for quilt-making.

Review: Whatever Is Lovely: A Coloring Book for Reflection and Worship

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a beautiful coloring book! Nice heavy stock cover with pretty gold accents and little bits of color on the front. The coloring pages are nice and thick and I especially like that there is only one picture to color per page. That way if you want to use markers, the color won't bleed through to a picture on the back. They're pretty enough to frame if you want to. However they are not perforated so I don't know how the edges would look after being torn out.

On the back of each page there is a scripture verse and the name of the illustrator/hand-lettered by. Each page has beautiful illustrations surrounding some impactful words from Scripture, hymns, preachers, teachers, and writers. Waterbrook has also provided a worshipful Spotify playlist link to listen to while you are coloring.  Nice!

This is an awesome addition to the adult coloring book trend that is really big right now. :D
